Edition 118: Three Daily Wins

I’m a huge fan of a holistic approach (physical, mental, spiritual) to living but have been thinking about how to put it into practice more often.

That’s where my favourite philosophy of how you live your day is how you live your life comes in.

What if you managed to have just one win a day, every day, in these each of these three important areas of leading a holistic life?

Here is a menu of activities you can pick from for each pillar. The duration can vary from a minimum of 5 minutes to whatever maximum amount you can manage comfortably unless on some days you really want to push yourself.

Nurture your Body. This will give you a physical win.

-  Breathing

-  Walking

-  Running

-  Yoga

-  Weight training

-  Cardio on machines at the gym

-  Team sport like football or basketball

-  A racquet game like badminton, tennis or paddle

-  Swimming

Feed your Mind. This will give you a mental win.

-  Reading

-  Journaling

-  Writing

-  Play board games

-  Puzzles

-  Learning something new

Nourish your Spirit. This will give you a spiritual win.

-  Meditation

-  Prayer

-  Silence

-  Quality time with loved ones

-  Laugh out loud

At a minimum, aiming for 3 daily wins calls for 15 minutes of your day - 5 minutes dedicated to your body, 5 minutes to your mind and 5 minutes to your spirit.

Keep at it consistently and watch the power of compounding shift your energy in all dimensions.

Intentionality about taking care of your mind, body and spirit will help you stay more positive, have more energy and feel happier.

Over to you now:

  • How might you carve out 15 minutes of your day for activities that replenish your mind, body and soul?

  • Will you do all 15 at one go or sprinkle them throughout the day

  • Will you repeat the same activity each day for each pillar or would you fancy mixing it up?

"Fall in love with taking care of yourself."
